NSCDA-DE, founded May 10, 1892, the year after our National Society was formed. This website was created to provide insight into our interest in patriotic service, historic preservation, education and how we interact in our community.
Misson
NSCDA-DE through local and National Society programs is dedicated to promoting historical research, preservation, education, patriotism and service to our country as part of The National Society of The Colonial Dames of America.
Weddings

 

The"Little" Church offers a traditional setting for your most sacred celebration and can be 
rented for meetings, weddings and receptions for a nominal fee.

Fun history facts about our State of Delaware

The Dutch established the first colony in 1631! The Swedes landed in what is now Christiana in 1638!

Delaware is known as the First State because we were the first state to ratify the constitution on December 7, 1787!

Thomas Jefferson referred to us as "a jewel" among the states, hence we are called the Diamond State!

Delaware is the home of the John Dickinson Plantation which the DE Dames bought and donated to the State of DE to save it!

Winterthur Museum and Gardens has the finest collection of American Decorative Arts, covering 1630-1860, in 175 rooms!

The National Society of The Colonial Dames of America in the State of Delaware was established May 10, 1892, the year after the 1891 founding of the National Society. A major NSCDA-DE project was the purchase, restoration and turn over to the State of Delaware, the John Dickinson Plantation, as a museum in 1951.
